Functional Dynamics Conference Early Registration and Abstract Submission Deadline
Category: | Meeting |
---|---|
Description: | The BioDesign Institute at Arizona State University, Nature, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Nature Methods, and Nature Physics are pleased to present: Functional dynamics – visualizing molecules in action The abstract submission deadline is September 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. EST. Function is intimately linked to structural and electronic changes. While long inferred from indirect observations, ongoing technical developments are now opening up opportunities for the direct visualization of such functionally important molecular changes with temporal and spatial resolutions that would be unthinkable a decade ago. This conference will explore the methods that make it possible to watch molecules in action, and illustrate the adage of "seeing is believing" by showcasing how these cutting-edge methods are pushing the boundaries of our knowledge in areas that range from biology and chemistry to physics and materials science. At this event, you'll have the opportunity to visit the laboratory where scientists will be making final preparations for "first light" from the prototype femtosecond X-ray source that is Phase 1 of the Compact X-ray Free Electron Laser (CXFEL), anticipated to be the first of its kind in the world.
