Biography
Mark S. Hunter, Ph.D., is a research assistant at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, working on the Coherent X-ray Imaging instrument.
Dr. Hunter received his B.A., in Chemistry from Wilkes University in 2006, and continued his studies, obtaining a Ph.D., in Chemistry from Arizona State University in 2011. Dr. Hunter was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Advanced Diagnostics and Instrumentation Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) until 2014, where his research focused upon developing protein crystallography techniques for coherent X-ray diffraction imaging (CDXI) and developing fixed target 2D and 3D protein crystallography. Additionally, he is engaged in collaborative studies with the University of California, Davis (UC-Davis), exploring utilization of biological imaging.
Dr. Hunter is a member of the Center for Biophotonics Science & Technology (CBST), a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. He continues his co-authorship, contributing to several publications, while affiliated with leading research institutions, including the CBST; UC-Davis; PULSE Center, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory; Arizona State University; University of Hamburg (Germany); Max Planck Institute for Medical Research and Uppsala University (Sweden).
